Class scheduling should be a democratic process

The administration should seek the guidance of professors when attempting to alter the schedule.

The Geneseo administration, as representatives of our college, should always take into account the views of the professors who teach us. Professors are the core of our institution, and their consent should therefore be given on every major issue involving our education.

We reserve the right, and the responsibility, to print the names of those who commit crimes, for all the right reasons.

In last week's issue, The Lamron published the names of several students who were ticketed or arrested by the village police for a variety of offenses. Although the information printed is, in fact, public and a standard course of practice for most local newspapers, it's something that this paper has not done in recent memory.

Anonymity needed in The Lamron

Printing the names of the accused bypasses the judicial system and implies guilt without trial, all the while serving no useful purpose to the readers.

American politics have turned ugly lately; in particular, I am referring to the "birther" movement. If you are fortunate enough not to have heard of this, allow me to explain. The birther movement is a nationwide group of protesters who believe that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States of America, which would make him constitutionally ineligible to be president.
