Women's soccer ties Fredonia as struggling men's team drops second straight contest

This past Saturday, Sept. 15, Geneseo's soccer teams squared off against SUNY Fredonia in the SUNYAC opener for both squads. The women opened their game with a bang, scoring within the first minute as junior Eileen Coyle tallied an easy goal with a nice assist from sophomore Stephanie Bergin.

Cross country impressive at NYU Invitational

On Saturday, Sept. 15, the Geneseo cross country teams traveled to New York University to compete in the NYU Invitational. Both teams turned in strong performances, as the women's team took first place and the men took second. The event was held at Van Cortland Park in the Bronx.

Sports Opinion: Women's soccer team has fresh look, but plenty of room for improvement

In watching the women's soccer match against SUNY Fredonia on Saturday, it became readily apparent that there were not an overwhelming number of familiar faces. The team this year includes 10 freshmen and one transfer student among its 23 players. In spite of the new players on the roster, the team managed to work together surprisingly well.
